Americans Against Abusive Probate Guardianship (www.aaapg.net) based Aventura, Florida, was honored by city of Aventura Mayor Enid Weissman. In a ceremony at the Aventura government center this morning Mayor Weissman proclaimed March 20, 2015 as Guardianship Awareness Day in the city of Aventura.
Doctor Sam Sugar founder of the group and a resident of Aventura said "We are so grateful to the city the Aventura for recognizing the plight of vulnerable seniors not only in Aventura but across the state who have been trapped in predatory guardianships. Guardianship awareness day is designed to raise awareness among vulnerable seniors and their families on the risks that professional guardianships pose to individuals and families and their assets."
Lidya Abramovici, AAAPG member and a resident of Aventura, added "Aventura is now in the forefront of the movement to educate, advocate and legislate on behalf of its Seniors".
The Mayor presented Sugar and Abramovici with a beautiful commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
