Marcia Southwick of Santa Fe, New Mexico is the founder and administrator of Facebook page, Boomers Against Elder Abuse, that has 65,000 followers. She is an amazing person who volunteers her time, huge talent and concern to a cause that few know about but that is a deep and destructive force in American society. She shines a huge spotlight on these incredible abuses, that cut across all parts of our society, and her efforts have united strangers in their quest to find out how their loved ones are mere pawns in a system gone haywire.
It's hard to imagine what could be more important other then the flip side of this coin, which is children caught in the web of "court protection". The most vulnerable in our society, the elderly and children, need to be heard. Marcia Southwick has given them a voice, and nothing could be more important. Her 65,000 plus followers will cheer if People honors her as a Hero Among Us. Few could be more deserving.
